Bus fares rise

10/20/08 15:18
Oil prices may have eased by a significant percentage, but this is not enough to cover the costs of operating a bus company during trying times, which is why we are now seeing up to 50% increases in bus fares. Aside from the fare raise, these companies will also slash costs by employing a smaller workforce everyday.

Transportation Lessons for Elementary School Children

10/05/08 01:45
Early on, children should already know how the transportation works to allow them move from place to place. This essentially includes transportation safety.

It is for the same reasons that VDOT trucks are conducting transportation lessons for elementary school students, since state laws also dictate that children should know how the transportation system works. More details about these lessons may be read here at Roanoke.

Flight Missed due to Mac Air

10/04/08 23:57
This article was written almost a year ago, but it does not fail to amuse me.

When the MacBook Air first came out, a natural reaction would be awe--awe by the fact that we rarely see a notebook as thin as the Air. But at least we knew that the Mac Air existed, unlike some agent from the TSA.

When flights are missed because of a TSA agent's unfamiliarity with the Air, what happens?

TSA's Feedback Program

10/03/08 23:41
Last Aug. 1, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) rolled out its feedback program which you could direct you attentions and allow you to send highly specific messages, complaints, compliments, and suggestions.

The agency is utilizing their supervisor to directly respond to your message and phrase those responses in an understandable and non bureaucratic manner.

The agency was formed after the 9/11 attack and a component of Homeland Security is responsible for the security of the nations transportation systems.

TSA-approved Laptop Bags

10/01/08 13:43
If you are a frequent flyer, you will probably know by now what a hassle it is to bring a laptop with you during a flight, no thanks to the staff of the TSA who wants you to have your laptop inspected all the time.

This would be made easier if you can have the bag go through the xray with the laptop inside it. It's not that easy but thank goodness when TSA finally released a list of approved laptop bags.
