Talks over the use of mobile phones still continues. And according to transportation secretary Ray Lahood, if it is all up to him he would ban drivers from texting immediately.
But the decision was not up to the secretary, it is the State legislatures who are responsible.
Fortunately there are states that are already prohibits texting while driving, New Hampshire and Oregon were the 15th and the 16th states to prohibit the practice.
People should understand the risk of texting while driving. Why we wait for accident to happen before realizing the mistake? My friend had close to death while texting while jumping red light. That experience shaked him.
